About the Role
A well-established and growing Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) based in Durban is seeking a practical, reliable, and customer-centric Wireless / Network Installation Technician.
This field-based role is ideal for an individual who enjoys hands-on, physical work, possesses basic networking knowledge, and excels at interacting with clients on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Installations: Carry out rooftop wireless installations, bracket mounting, and neat cable routing (including PoE setup).
- Configuration & Troubleshooting: Set up customer routers, basic Wi-Fi configurations, and perform on-site network troubleshooting.
- Workflow & Documentation: Update job statuses in real-time using Monday.com and capture quality installation photographs for compliance.
- Customer Support: Provide professional, clear, and friendly on-site customer service, with occasional evening support rotation via WhatsApp.
Candidate Requirements
- Physical Capability: Fully comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders, and managing outdoor field conditions safely.
- Soft Skills: High level of integrity, trustworthy, presentable, and possessing strong professional communication skills.
- Driver’s Licence: Valid South African driver’s licence (essential for independent field operations).
- Technical Advantage: Prior exposure to Wi-Fi systems, cabling, PoE, or equipment such as Ubiquiti, MikroTik, Reyee, or similar hardware will be highly advantageous.
