Position: Paraplanner
Boutique Wealth Management Firm in Kloof, Durban
 
About the Role
This is a boutique wealth management business that’s dedicated to delivering highly personalised, holistic financial advice to a select client base. Due to growth, we are seeking a Paraplanner who thrives on precision, enjoys working closely with advisers, and takes pride in producing exceptional client outcomes.
 
This role is ideal for someone who wants to be deeply involved in the technical and strategic heart of wealth planning, rather than operating in a high‑volume, transactional environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Adviser Support
    • Take full ownership of allocated client appointments and diary management
    • Coordinate file preparation by allocating tasks to administration and implementation teams
    • Prepare structured meeting agendas and ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant
    • Perform final quality checks and sign-off before meetings
    • Brief and offload client files to the Financial Adviser ahead of meetings
 
Wealth Management Planning
    • Prepare comprehensive initial Wealth Management Plans
    • Develop revised plans and alternative scenarios as client needs evolve
    • Monitor and maintain ongoing Wealth Management Plans
    • Present plans to the Financial Adviser prior to client meetings to ensure strategic alignment
 
Record of Advice (ROA)
    • Manage post‑meeting file handovers
    • Draft Records of Advice and obtain Adviser sign‑off prior to client delivery
    • Create, track, and complete follow‑up tasks arising from each ROA
 
Technical & Analytical Support
    • Perform tax calculations when required
    • Conduct performance comparisons and portfolio calculations
    • Prepare reconciliations, implementation updates, and action plans
    • Complete estate planning calculations and reviews
 
Risk & Implementation
    • Compile risk assessments and obtain quotes
    • Manage living annuity reviews and revisions, liaising with implementation teams ahead of anniversary dates
    • Track and manage implementation progress to completion
 
Client Service & Communication
    • Respond to day‑to‑day wealth planning queries via email and telephone
    • Maintain and update the client list on a quarterly basis
 
Content & Documentation
    • Contribute to the drafting of quarterly client articles and insights
    • Utilise templates to draft legal and financial documents, including:
        • Wills
        • Living Wills
        • Powers of Attorney
        • Loan Agreements
 
Task & Workflow Management
    • Proactively manage, prioritise, and complete tasks across multiple clients and workflows
 
 
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
 
    • CFP® qualification or clear intention to complete CFP®
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial planning or a related financial services role
    • Completion of RE Examinations
    • Strong computer literacy, including experience with:
        • Financial planning and analysis tools
        • Excel, Word, and email platforms

Salary is R25 000 – R35 000 CTC
