Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant running of the business’s daily operations while supporting long-term business growth. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role oversees operational effectiveness, process improvements, risk management, compliance, financial controls, and team leadership across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and improve operational processes, systems, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with regulations including FSCA, POPIA, AML, and FICA
- Identify, assess, and reduce operational and financial risks
- Lead and support the operations team, including performance management and staff planning
- Oversee banking operations, reconciliations, payments, and financial monitoring
- Manage customer service support and client communication
- Develop SOPs, contingency plans, and audit controls
- Drive cost reduction, automation, and process innovation
- Support strategic planning and contribute to organizational growth
- Work closely with Risk, Legal, Compliance, Sales Managers, and Directors
Requirements:
- Strong banking background with at least 5+ years in banking compliance
- 3+ years of financial management experience
- Accounting knowledge/background preferred
- Advanced Certificate in Banking Services (preferred)
- Strong leadership and operational management experience
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
