The Systems Engineer is responsible to manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure. Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools.
Ensuring the highest levels of systems, infrastructure availability and SLAs.
 
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
    • Participating, providing, and assisting in the design, UAT and implementation of solutions.
    • Hardware and software scoping and planning for client requirements.
    • Capacity planning of resources for physical and virtual environments.
    • Engage in new and existing business/client project planning, testing and rollouts.
    • Ensure client systems remain stable and requirements are continuously met.
    • Ensure client SLAs, deliverables and projects are met timeously.
    • Co-ordinate software & systems solutions testing and rollouts.
    • Patch management and remediation to systems and vulnerabilities across infrastructure, software and other applications
    • Communicate effectively with clients and key stakeholders
    • Resolving reactive day to day internal and external client related issues
 
Requirements
    • IT Diploma/ Degree
    • MCSE/ MCSA, CompTIA A+, N+
    • 4+ Years’ experience in Information Technology
    • Experience with system engineering design strategies and techniques
    • Experience with software development life cycle
    • Strong scripting and automation skills
    • Security (S+)
    • O365 or other cloud certifications
    • Good attention to detail, drive and high level of customer service

    • Must be proactive in anticipating the complexities around changes within the infrastructure.
    • Manage and monitor all installed systems & infrastructure (Server & desktop)
    • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
    • Strong understanding of Microsoft Update methodologies, including SCCM, WSUS.
    • Microsoft O365 Environment Installation, Monitoring, Support & Maintenance
    • Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP and DNS Management
    • Experience using Kaspersky Endpoint Protection solutions.
    • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
    • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
    • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
    • Evaluates the existing systems and provides the technical direction to IT support staff.
    • Virtualisation technologies (VMWare preferred)
    • Extensive experience with MS Windows and MS Office product implementations and support including Active Directory, LDAP, Exchange and Remote Desktop Services
    • Messaging fundamentals (Mimecast SMTP, DMARC, DKIM, SPF)
    • Exposure to PCI-DSS and compliance Standards 
    • Prioritize incidents, client requirements and working independently
