Systems Engineer: Microsoft – Durban
 
Objective
The Systems Engineer reports to the Infrastructure Services Team Leader and is responsible for the implementation, support, maintenance and improvement of the company’s Microsoft infrastructure.
A key objective of this role is to drive and implement the latest Microsoft technologies; to stay updated with the latest developments in the Microsoft domain; and to ensure optimal performance of the Microsoft infrastructure and corresponding services.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
    • Design, setup, implement, migrate, maintain and support Microsoft Exchange
    • Respond to mail-related queries
    • Implement, support and maintain Microsoft O365 and Azure Services
    • Working knowledge of Distributed File System (DFS)
    • Design, setup and maintain AD environments
    • Administration of file system security permissions
    • File System migrations for new clients and Operating System upgrades
    • Unified Endpoint Management – patch management and policy control
    • Install and maintain servers (including racking / cabling, and installing operating systems)
    • Assist in the Maintenance of VMware environments
    • Resolve problems within Microsoft systems and third-party applications
    • Provide support and guidance to other teams when necessary
    • Create and maintain documentation
 
Qualifications
    • Relevant tertiary degree or diploma
    • MCSE, preferably in ‘Productivity’
 
Experience and Requirements
    • Proven Active Directory, Exchange and Office 365 implementation success is essential
    • General skills across Microsoft Enterprise product set
