Our client, an exclusive safari camps/lodge resorts is looking for a Lodge/General Management couple based in Botswana, (Okavango, Delta).
 
The role of a Lodge/General Manager of a camp or lodge is multifaceted, involving various responsibilities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the camp, ongoing service excellence for guests, while developing and maintaining a trained and motivated team of staff as well as adhering to financial management of the budget by controlling costs and overseeing all departments.
 
MUST HAVE WORKED A GM MANAGEMENT COUPLE IN AN EXCLUSIVE SAFARI LODGE ENVIRONMENT

Goal To ensure an exceptional guest experience while maintaining the camp’s efficiency and sustainability and a motivated,
trained, and engaged staff complement.
  
Education: Degree or 3-year Diploma in tourism hospitality or a similar qualification.
 
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in camp management.
 
Skills Required
        1. Basic knowledge of hybrid solar energy plants, water plants and sewerage treatment plants, mechanics,
electrical and carpentry.
2. Decisive and clear leadership skills to deal with a crisis and quick decision-making.
3. General knowledge including the geography of Botswana and southern Africa as well as current world affairs.
4. Driver’s licence and knowledge of off-road driving and vehicle recovery methods.
5. Knowledge of boats and outboard motors, both wheel and tiller steering.
6. Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and have competent computer skills.
7. Must become familiar with the relevant government policies and Acts that govern safari tourism operations in Botswana.
