Role Summary
Our client with offices in Durban and Johannesburg, is looking for a mid-senior level, hands-on L3 Systems Engineers to stabilize client environments and enforce high technical standards.
This role focuses on permanent root-cause solutions rather than temporary fixes, ensuring our growth strategy is built on a foundation of proactive engineering and technical excellence.
 
What You’ll Be Doing
    • Root Cause Resolution: Solve complex technical escalations with permanent solutions.
    • Environment Standardization: Implement and enforce consistent client environment standards.
    • Project Leadership: Lead high-standard technical delivery of infrastructure projects.
    • Proactive Improvement: Drive automation, PowerShell scripting, and monitoring enhancements.
    • Team Support: Provide real-time guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
 
Requirements
    • Minimum 5+ years in IT engineering, specifically within an MSP or multi-client environment.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, Azure (Identity, Intune, Conditional Access), and Windows Server.
    • Strong grasp of firewalls, VPNs, routing, DNS, and backup/DR design.
    • Practical experience with PowerShell scripting and RMM configuration.
    • Proven ability to operate at a senior level and make technical decisions independently.
    • Valid driver’s license, own reliable vehicle, and ability to travel to sites in the Durban/Kloof area.
    • A collaborative, team-player attitude with a high degree of accountability.
    • Preferred: Microsoft certifications (Azure/M365) and experience with ConnectWise Manage.
