Key Accounts Executive

The Opportunity
An established and growing business within the FMCG and General Merchandise sector is seeking a commercially astute Key Accounts Executive to manage and grow strategic retail relationships. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional who enjoys working with major accounts, driving growth, and playing a key role in a business with clear long‑term career progression.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of key customer partnerships, act as a trusted advisor, and collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver tailored commercial solutions. The position offers strong scope for development and progression within the organisation for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop long‑term relationships with key retail and FMCG customers
Serve as the primary point of contact for allocated strategic accounts
Understand customer objectives and translate them into customised, value-driven solutions
Identify and execute opportunities to grow revenue, margin, and market presence
Lead pricing discussions, promotions, and contract negotiations
Develop and maintain strategic account plans aligned with business objectives
Monitor account performance, analyse data, and provide monthly reporting and insights to senior leadership
Work cross‑functionally with teams such as Marketing, Operations, and New Product Development
Maintain strong market awareness, including customer trends, competitor activity, and category performance
Proactively resolve client issues and ensure a high standard of service delivery
Experience & Skills Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or a related discipline
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Senior Sales or Key Account Management role
At least 3 years’ experience within the FMCG environment, preferably dealing with major retail chains
A proven track record of business development and account growth
Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, margin, and gross profit management
Analytical mindset with experience translating data into actionable insights
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms
Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
Willingness to travel locally (approximately 3–5 days every second week)
