Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Location: Phoenix, Durban
Salary: R 45 000 CTC per month
Job Purpose
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all human resources strategies, policies, and processes at the company. The role ensures compliance with South African labour legislation, ISO standards, and internal governance requirements while supporting operational performance, workforce stability, and a positive organisational culture within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Workforce Planning
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned to the company’s operational and business objectives.
- Partner with Management to plan workforce requirements in line with production demands, shift structures, and seasonal fluctuations.
- Support organisational structure design, role clarity, and succession planning.
2. Recruitment, Selection & Onboarding
[Namely FTC, and seasonal workers]
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for all factory, administrative, and management roles.
- Methods for hiring
- Ensure fair, transparent, and documented recruitment processes in line with labour law
- Coordinate induction and onboarding programmes to ensure new employees understand company policies, safety requirements, and performance expectations.
- Maintain accurate personnel records for audit and compliance purposes.
3. Employee Relations & Labour Compliance – Core
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including discipline, grievances, incapacity, and misconduct.
- Ensure disciplinary and grievance procedures are conducted fairly, consistently, and in line with the Labour Relations Act (LRA).
- Prepare for and represent the company at CCMA and bargaining council proceedings where required.
- Manage relationships with trade unions where applicable.
4. Performance Management & KPIs
- Implement and manage performance management systems across the business, to have a process to quantify performance.
- Ensure performance objectives and KPIs are clearly defined, documented, and reviewed regularly.
- Support line managers in conducting performance reviews and managing underperformance.
5. Training, Skills Development & EE
- Develop and implement the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR).
- Coordinate training, skills development, and competency assessments, particularly for critical manufacturing and supervisory roles.
- Manage Employment Equity (EE) compliance, reporting, and committee processes.
- Ensure compliance with SETA requirements where applicable.

- Drive employee engagement, communication, and retention initiatives; Team building, fostering a better company culture
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or Labour Relations
- Minimum 7 years in HR with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation
- Experience with CCMA cases and disciplinary hearings
- Strong administrative, organisational, and interpersonal skills
