This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-respected, Durban-based establishment with a diverse population of staff and Residents.
The role will require a mature professional person with experience and qualifications in hospitality management.  
 
It is critical that the incumbent be able to lead their own team but also be a team player as they work closely with other members of the management team.  
 
Key aspects of the job include, among other things:
  • Managing admissions, reception, housekeeping, laundry, catering and public relations.  
  • Previous work experience within the Aged Care sector would be advantageous.
  • Adherence to occupational health and safety act 85 of 1993 as amended
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Report potential risks and hazards to nursing service manager
 
Requirements
  • Matric with a Hospitality qualification
  • Have External Marketing or Events experience, with skills to market the Home effectively to increase occupancy  
  • At least 3 years previous experience in accommodation/hospitality industry
  • Passion for working with older people.
  • Previous experience managing budgets.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.Have patience and kindness when dealing with the elderly
  • Have an even temperament and be able to work with others harmoniously
  • Have a proven track record of strong organisational skills and improving effieciency
  • Must be able to maintain high quality standards of themselves and the team
