A well-established logistics and freight forwarding provider is seeking an experienced Export Controller to join their team in Johannesburg.
This is a permanent, full-time, in-office position focused on providing tailored shipping solutions across multiple transport modes.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipment Coordination: Coordinate and control multimodal export shipments across road, sea, and air.
- Documentation: Prepare, process, and verify all export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates.
- Compliance: Ensure full compliance with SARS export regulations and customs requirements.
- System Management: Perform export declarations and submissions using the EasyClear system.
- Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, clearing agents, and clients.
- Tracking & Resolution: Proactively track shipments and resolve any delays, discrepancies, or documentation issues.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records and provide regular shipment updates to all relevant stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record as an Export Controller or in a similar export/logistics role.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of multimodal export processes and SARS customs procedures.
- Systems: High proficiency in the EasyClear system is essential.
- Skills: Excellent attention to detail regarding documentation and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Software: Proficient in MS Office and export-related software.
