Responsible for the full-function processing and reconciliation of debtors’ transactions, cashbook receipts, and credit management within a three-person team.
Manages an allocated portfolio combining key accounts and general debtors across designated branches, ensuring timely collections, age analysis optimization, and strong customer relations.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Full-Function Debtors & System Maintenance: Execute daily full-function debtors control, updating the Omni System with detailed, relevant account information.
Collections & Cash Allocation: Drive credit control and collection of outstanding funds across assigned portfolios; allocate daily branch and bank receipts accurately.
Reconciliations & Credit Notes: Reconcile debtors accounts and process verified credit notes in accordance with company authorization procedures.
Key Account & Query Management: Manage key account relationships, resolve customer queries consistently to final resolution, and manage escalations effectively.
Reporting & Excel Management: Maintain/update Excel schedules and compile monthly debtors reports with current status updates for the Accounts Manager and Financial Director.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain active daily communication with customers, Sales Representatives, Regional Managers, and Branch Administrators.
Ad Hoc Financial Support: Assist the Accounts Manager with departmental tasks, ad-hoc projects, and maintaining optimal age analysis standards.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a dedicated Debtors / Accounts Receivable role.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (building and maintaining complex reports, formulas, and schedules).
Proficiency in standard accounting software (Omni system experience required/advantageous).
Strong numerical reasoning and account reconciliation capabilities.
 
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize and execute under pressure.
Superior written and telephonic communication skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of professional presentation.
Proactive relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
