Key Responsibilities
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate budgeting and cost forecasting.
Conduct market research to obtain pricing on materials, labor, and equipment.
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and present estimates to management and clients.
Evaluate risks and contingencies associated with project costs.
Review historical data and industry trends to improve estimation accuracy.
Assist in bid preparation and tender documentation.
Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize cost efficiency.
Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in cost estimation within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and pricing trends.
Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
