Claims Handler – Umhlanga (Must be Fully Qualified , RE5, FAIS Compliant)
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Claims Specialist to manage both commercial and personal lines insurance claims. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring claims are handled efficiently, fairly, and in compliance with policy terms. Duties & Responsibilities
Claims Processing
Manage claims from initial notification through to settlement, ensuring efficiency and professionalism
Assess, validate, and process claims for both commercial and personal lines of insurance
Investigate complex claims, including liability assessments and causation investigations
Coordinate third-party services such as adjusters, assessors, and lawyers
Client and Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary contact for claimants, offering guidance and providing regular updates
Work with underwriters, brokers, and clients to ensure a seamless claims process
Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including assessors, brokers, and service providers
Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring timely issue resolution
Claims Risk and Analysis
Analyze claims data to identify trends, risks, and potential fraud
Prepare detailed reports on claims outcomes and trends for management
Monitor claims for potential litigation or disputes, recommending appropriate actions
Compliance & Regulatory
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the claims management system
Adhere to industry standards and regulations, including Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Data Protection
Desired Experience & Qualification
Educational (non- negotiable) – Candidates without the below will NOT be considered
RE5 Certification
FAIS Compliant (NQF L4 / NQF L5 in short-term insurance / 120 credits)
Experience
3-5 years of claims management experience (commercial and personal lines)
Strong knowledge of claims processes, insurance policies, and product coverage
Binder experience – Non negotiable
Experience in handling complex and high-value claims
