Business Development Executive – Personal Lines
Location: Kloof, Durban
 
Role Overview
We are looking for an ambitious and customer-focused Business Development Executive to join our growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to drive the continued growth of our personal lines business by converting high-quality, company-provided leads into long-term client relationships. There is no cold calling involved—your focus will be on engaging warm leads and delivering tailored insurance solutions that meet their needs.
 
Key Responsibilities
Lead Engagement and Conversion
 
Engage professionally with leads supplied by the business, building rapport and gaining a clear understanding of clients’ insurance requirements.
Present and sell a range of personal lines insurance products, offering solutions aligned to each client’s circumstances.
 
Client Relationship Management
 
Establish strong, lasting relationships with new clients from initial contact through onboarding and beyond.
Ensure a seamless client experience that promotes satisfaction, trust, and retention.
 
Product and Market Expertise
 
Maintain strong knowledge of personal lines insurance products, underwriting principles, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
Provide informed, compliant, and value-driven advice to clients.
 
Sales Performance and Strategy
 
Work closely with the Sales Manager to support sales initiatives and achieve agreed business development targets.
Contribute insights to improve conversion rates and expand the client base.
 
Reporting and Administration
 
Accurately track sales activity, lead progress, and performance metrics.
Prepare regular reports and updates for the General Manager, ensuring transparency and accountability.
 
Customer Service Excellence
 
Respond promptly and professionally to client enquiries and concerns.
Proactively resolve issues to ensure a positive client experience and ongoing loyalty.
 
Qualifications and Experience
 
Education: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
Certifications: Insurance-related qualifications such as NQF Level 4 and RE5 are advantageous
 
Skills and Knowledge:
 
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Sound analytical judgment and decision-making ability
Solid understanding of personal insurance products and underwriting fundamentals
 
 
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when handling documentation and client data
