The Bond store Controller will be required to administer the bond records in compliance with governmental regulations.
 
Requirements
 
  • Matric + Post matric qualification is an advantage
  • Admin skills essential
  • Experience in Bond store documentation/administration
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and procedure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Responsible and accountable
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team/environment with the ability to work independently
  • Be prepared to work weekends and overtime
 
Departmental Key Performance Areas:
 
  • Registering of receipted bonded cargo
  • Weekly client reports for required acquittals
  • Completion of customs bill of entries at the end of the accounting period of excise account [when required]
  • Submission of customs excise account on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Liaise with customs on suspected fraudulent activity  
  • Verifying bill of entries for customs purpose
    • Current / upcoming shipment updates
    • Making sure that all upcoming shipments are manifested, follow up with CSC, all upcoming shipment to be on the pipe line report
    • Communicate with client, making sure that free days are advised, this will help in managing time frame to complete the shipment
    • Track Arrival of Vessels
    • Track vessel birthing completion  
    • Liaise with Transport team for import collections
    • Liaise with warehouse team on the unpack progress
    • Constantly check how the unpacks go and follow up with the team considering free days granted to turn in MT
    • Make sure that all empty containers are turned in within free days   
    • In case of unforeseen circumstances due to weather not permitting for unpacking or vessel delays or port wind bound  etc, a client to be informed immediately to arrange OT or client to negotiate with the shipment line or apply for free days extension for container returns.
