The Automation & Systems Engineer oversees the administration, reliability, and continuous enhancement of core internal systems.
The position focuses on workflow automation, system integrations, and business process optimization—specifically leveraging HaloPSA and Rewst—to eliminate manual effort, standardize operations, and support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, design, build, and maintain automations to eliminate repetitive tasks, minimize errors, and scale operations.
- Act as technical owner for internal platforms, driving continuous configuration and improvements across HaloPSA, Rewst, and related tools.
- Build and maintain secure API, webhook, and data integrations between business platforms.
- Collaborate with departmental leads to refine workflows, translate requirements into technical solutions, and support the practical rollout of AI initiatives.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data pipelines to provide operational visibility and management insights.
- Maintain detailed documentation for all workflows, integrations, and change control procedures to ensure operational resilience and audit readiness.
- Provide clear communication, training, and guidance to support smooth end-user adoption of new tools and processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 4–6+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or automation, preferably within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or fast-paced technology environment.
- PSA & Automation Tools: Hands-on experience administrating and configuring HaloPSA (forms, workflows, templates, reporting) and building workflows in Rewst (or equivalent automation platforms).
- ITIL Foundation
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Associate or Azure Administrator Associate
- CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security Fundamentals, or equivalent
- Demonstrated capability with PowerShell, REST APIs, JSON, and webhooks.
- Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access, and Windows client administration.
- Microsoft Power Platform (Fundamentals or App Maker Associate) or Rewst certification
- Strong analytical mindset focused on process efficiency, accuracy, and detail.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
- Disciplined approach to change control, testing, risk assessment, and system governance.
