Our client in Durban is seeking a detail-oriented Architect QC Engineer to oversee quality control for architectural and civil works throughout the project lifecycle—from design and procurement to final handover.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- Experience: Minimum 3–8 years of experience specifically as an Architect QC Engineer.
- Language: Full professional fluency in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Planning: Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs to establish quality criteria for materials and workmanship.
- Documentation: Assist in preparing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and maintain comprehensive quality, test, and inspection records.
- Process Monitoring: Oversee the implementation of Method Statements and ITPs, ensuring all architectural/civil works meet project standards.
- Inspection & Testing: Manage on-site inspections, coordinate with 3rd-party testing companies, and perform statistical analysis of test data.
- Compliance & Audit: Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, monitor corrective actions, and assist in periodic technical audits of sub-contractors.
- Site Coordination: Liaise with construction teams to resolve quality issues and witness client verifications/site inspections.
- Project Close-out: Monitor punch list completions and assist in preparing final certification documentation.
