Account Manager – Johannesburg – Market-Related Base + Uncapped Commission + Incentives OTE (On Target Earnings)
 
Responsibilities:
  • Own and grow a portfolio of existing clients across all industries.
  • Engage decision-makers regularly — ensuring you have strong, ongoing relationships with Heads of Sales, HR, and Learning & Development — to stay top-of-mind, understand business priorities, and uncover new opportunities.
  • Drive expansion sales across our full suite of offerings — sales training, sales management training, assessments, consulting, public courses, and keynotes.
  • Promote and sell seats for The Client Live events and the Sales Leadership & Management Convention.
  • Identify and secure speaking opportunities for The Client at client conferences and internal sales events.
  • Update and maintain client information in the CRM — every account, every contact, every time.
  • Hold structured quarterly account meetings with clear action steps and next meetings booked.
  • Generate referrals by proactively asking satisfied clients to introduce The Client to their networks.
  • Collaborate with our Head of Sales to align account strategies, track progress, and ensure execution against targets.
  • Prospect into referral networks to create and convert new business opportunities for The Client.
 
Requirements:
 
  • 5+ years of B2B account management or sales experience with a track record of growing existing clients with strong contactable references.
  • Relationship builder + challenger — you know how to build trusted, year-round relationships with Heads of Sales, HR, and L&D and keep them engaged.
  • Commercially sharp — you see opportunities, position value over price, and close the gap to a decision.
  • Highly organised and disciplined — you keep CRM data clean, follow up consistently, and make every client feel seen.
  • Confident communicator — comfortable leading meetings, presenting solutions, and engaging at executive level.
  • Growth mindset — eager to learn, be coached, and continually raise your own bar.
  • Self-starter — you don’t wait for accounts to come to you; you drive the engagement plan and own the outcomes.
  • Strong work ethic & personal accountability — you take responsibility for your results, show up consistently, and do what it takes to deliver.
Own vehicle with valid driver’s licence — you will be visiting clients on a daily basis.
 
Salary is between R 30 000 – R 35 000 CTC + comm + incentives
