Multi-award winning Westville based-recruitment agency, Pro Appointments has announced the launch of their specialist recruitment division, Pro Talent. Pro Talent will be recruiting in the fields of IT, Engineering and Technical, Finance, Accounts, Insurance, Marketing and Management. CEO, Cindy Norcott, said that the global trend towards specialisation has prompted this change. “Employers are requiring sought-after candidates with scarce skills and prefer to deal with specialist recruiters who work in one specific field.” Said Norcott.
On a general note, Norcott says that the job market has started off on a very buoyant and bullish note. Comparing year on year, they have noticed a sharp increase in job orders as well as an upsurge in the volume of cv’s being sent to them by active job-seekers. Norcott attributes this to a more positive sentiment in the business community, and increased political stability. There has also been a marked increase in job opportunities for IT and Engineering staff as well as an upsurge in Accounting positions. These three job categories are seeing steady growth in the Durban area.
“January is the busiest time of the year for the job market, and we advise job seekers to create honest and accurate cv’s that are short, professional and factually correct.” Advises Norcott. She suggests that job seekers adopt a multi-pronged approach when looking for positions and advises them to apply to recruitment agencies, apply on job portals as well as be prepared to take on temporary and contract work while unemployed.
