Regional Manager, KwaZulu-Natal


Our client, in the dairy / agriculture sector, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Regional Manager for their  KwaZulu-Natal region. (based in the Midlands)
 
The role involves advocacy, collaboration, providing guidance, promoting industry best practices, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships. A key aspect of the role will be managing sponsorships, coordinating regional events, and providing support to national events and campaigns.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Advocacy & Representation
      • Stakeholder Representation: Represent milk producers’ interests in meetings with government agencies, industry bodies, regulatory authorities, and other key stakeholders.
      • Lobbying: Advocate for favourable policies, regulations, and support structures to benefit the dairy sector regionally and nationally.  
      • Farmer Advocacy: Serve as a voice for producers, addressing concerns and challenges to ensure their interests are represented effectively.

Social Media Management: Take ownership of managing the social media platform

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
    1. Educational Background: A degree or diploma in agriculture, animal science, agricultural economics, or a related discipline.
    2. Industry Experience: Previous experience in advocacy, dairy farming, or a role closely related to the agricultural sector.
    3. Established Connections: Strong existing relationships with local farmers or key points of contact within the agricultural community in the region.
    4. Effective Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities to engage with diverse stakeholders.
    5. Event Coordination and Sponsorship Management: Demonstrated experience managing sponsorships and organising industry-related events.
    6. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulations and standards impacting milk production and the broader dairy industry will be beneficial.
    7. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, with a basic understanding of Afrikaans.  
    8. Location: Candidate must reside in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands region
 
REMUNERATION
Market-related compensation package.
 
This package includes a company vehicle for work-related matters, such as farm visits and meetings, with all travel and accommodation expenses for such purposes covered by the organisation. Additionally, the successful candidate will be provided with a company cell phone and laptop to ensure seamless communication and productivity.
