Are you an experienced Property Accountant with a strong background in commercial and industrial property management?
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our Clients team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounting and reporting functions related to leased properties and developments. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in property management and letting, a strong understanding of accounting systems, and an ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Accurately process monthly rental and OPEX recovery invoices.
- Supplier/Vendor/Creditors Control: Oversee and manage all supplier, vendor, and creditor accounts.
- Debtors Control: Full control of debtors, ensuring collections are managed effectively.
- Management Accounts: Prepare management accounts on time, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Regularly reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform data extraction and analysis.
- Internal Control: Monitor and maintain internal controls, procedures, and systems.
- Accounting Systems Maintenance: Keep accounting systems up to date and manage errors and exceptions.
- VAT: Conduct VAT reconciliation, returns, and audits.
- Communication: Provide prompt responses to queries from management, auditors, and regulators.
- Asset & Liability Management: Maintain Non-Current Asset and Liability registers, ensuring accurate reconciliations.
- Payroll Data Import: Import payroll data into the accounting system.
- Journals & Accruals: Process monthly journals, accruals, and revaluations.
- Ad-hoc Reporting: Provide analysis and reporting as required.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) – Non-negotiable.
- 5+ Years Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial or industrial property management & letting.
- Sage 300 Experience: Proficient in ERP Accounting systems, particularly Sage 300.
- VAT Knowledge: Solid understanding of VAT laws and e-Filing experience.
- Excel Expertise: Excellent Excel skills, with strong reporting capabilities.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage your workload effectively.
- Team Collaboration: Experience working as part of a large team and across departments.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to resolve queries with property managers and stakeholders.
