Junior Data Manager – Cape Town

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of data systems: Designing, developing, and modifying data infrastructure to accelerate the processes of data analysis and reporting, and evaluating the design, selection, and implementation of database changes by comparing them with business requirements and design documents.
- Develop documentation, policies, and procedures: Developing standards of operation when handling and archiving data and maintain data management plans and instructions for operating complex business systems.
- Introduction of new technologies and/or systems: Overseeing the integration of new technologies and initiatives into data standards and structures
- Manage data security and governance: Ensure data and information security by integrating and upholding digital security systems with security and compliance teams
Requirements
- BSc/BA Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or other sciences advantageous for analytics
- Microsoft Certified Data Administrator/Associate (MSSQL/Azure)
- Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals
- Experience with data management applications such as Python/Java/R
- Knowledge of data governance principles and compliance standards
- 2 – 5 years of experience in data management, or data analysis, or data administration, or big data administration and management
