Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Masters in Law
- Qualified Lawyer / Attorney with at least 4 years post qualification experience, ideally within the ICT/Telecommunication Industry
- CGISA / Chartered Secretary qualification or studying towards same
- Qualification or studying towards the following:
- Post-Graduate Diploma in Compliance or Certificate in Compliance
- Governance
- Solid understanding of Law/ Regulations/ Compliance. Compliance exposure and experience is essential.
- An understanding of the different entity types, how they operate, and general governance.
- Good understanding of MOIs and Shareholders agreements, etc.
- General company secretarial experience is essential (eg attend to filings at CIPC, maintain share registers, etc).
- Company law knowledge and exposure is essential.
- Drafting experience is essential (eg policies, procedures, committee mandates, agreements, etc).
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex legal concepts and analysis and translate those to non-lawyers to create practical processes, guidance and training.
- Ability to evaluate and weigh all legal aspects and / or situation, and be able to provide sound advice, with the aim of protecting the legal rights of the Group.
- Knowledge of and experience with Telecommunications Laws and Regulations, Data Protection and privacy Laws and experience dealing with ICASA is advantageous.
- A basic understanding of occupational health and safety is advantageous.
- Experience with B-BBEE and Anti-Corruption and Bribery will be advantageous.
